Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Management:
Lead and manage IT projects through their entire lifecycle, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control, and closure.
Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resource allocation, and budget.
Oversee project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure timely completion within budget and scope.
Organizational Change & Business Process Improvement:
Assess existing business processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend strategic improvements.
Facilitate workshops and engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and define future state processes.
Develop and implement strategies for change management to ensure successful adoption of new systems and processes.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
Communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders, including senior leadership, faculty, staff, and technical teams.
Prepare and present project updates, reports, and recommendations to various audiences.
Foster strong collaborative relationships to ensure project success.
Deliverables:
Clearly documented business requirements and functional specifications.
Detailed process maps of current and future state workflows.
Comprehensive recommendations for system optimizations, new system implementations, and process enhancements.
Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in IT Project Management, with a significant focus on organizational change and business process improvement.
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex IT projects within the education sector (post-secondary experience highly preferred).
Certifications:
Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince2 certification is mandatory.
Skills:
Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Assets:
Experience working with Agile methodologies.
Familiarity with multi-union environments.
