        We are looking for a Material Handler/forklift operator for a busy Distribution Center in Burnaby.If you describe yourself as motivated, in good physical shape, and are able to work within a team setting as well as alone, we are looking for someone just like you.What you need to know about the Forklift Operator/Material Handler role:- Load/unload trucks, trailers, containers – by forklift, sometimes by hand - Pick, pack, sort, put away stock using a forklift, picker, or clamp truck, ensuring that there are minimal errors- Keep shipping/receiving areas clean & organized- Assist with Inventory counts as required- Work safely and abide by OH&S standards/requirementsAdvantages- $22/hr to start- Full medical & dental plan after probation- RSP matching 5%- Career developmentResponsibilities-Supervise issues and activities central to the Warehouse operations-Creates daily tracking forms and ensures they are completed on a timely basis and balanced accurately-Ensure Occupational Health & Safety policies are followed at all times throughout the warehouse and the rest of the facility.-Operate overhead crane in a safe and responsible manner to load Caesarstone slabs onto customer’s vehicles.-Drive forklift in a safe and responsible manner to load and unload Caesarstone slabs onto customer’s vehicles and shipping containers.-Ensure the delivery docket matches what has been loaded onto the customer’s truck-Unload containers that arrive daily. Scanning receipts according to the procedure.-Load and unload semi-trailers for transfer of stock to or from other branches. Accurately recording stock on IPR (Inbound Product Report)-Ensure paperwork is completed efficiently and correctly.-Participate in monthly inventory counts.-Daily equipment inspections.-Cleaning/maintenance of the warehouse and yard.Qualifications-Minimum of 3 years’ work experience, with supervisory experience-Excellent communication, work management, collaboration and results orientation skills.-Ability to interact with all levels of staff, management and customers-Positive and “can do” attitude, and a confident, polite manner-Basic Computer literacy and experienced with Microsoft Office Products-Working experience with ERP and / or Warehouse Management Systems (Oracle advantage)-Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.-Able to work with tight deadlines in a multi-task, high priority environmentSummaryThree easy ways to apply:1.
