Responsibilities
Analyze and review business and system requirements for completeness and accuracy
Conduct detailed functional, non-functional, and integration testing
Perform test planning, execution, and traceability to requirements
Participate in functional, non-functional, and system integration testing
Analyze and validate business and system requirements to ensure completeness
Create traceable test cases and scenarios tied to business needs
Conduct backend validation using SQL across multiple databases
Support interface validation and data parsing using scripting tools as needed
Identify, document, and track defects using established tools
Collaborate with project teams to ensure quality standards are met
Contribute to continuous improvements in QA processes and deliverables
Qualifications
Required:
Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
3+ years of QA experience with integrated applications or systems
Experience testing financial transaction flows (e.g., credit, debit, or open payments)
Proficiency with SQL and experience working with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
Familiarity with QA methodologies such as Agile, V-model, and Waterfall
Strong analytical skills for reviewing requirements and identifying gaps or risks
Ability to write or interpret simple scripts for data parsing (e.g., Shell or Perl)
Understanding of network and communication protocols
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Valuable Assets (Nice to Have – Not Required)
Exposure to fare collection or public transportation systems
Familiarity with QA standards like CMMI or ISO
Experience with reconciliation or financial reporting systems
Knowledge of TTC business functions or public sector operations
Awareness of hardware environmental standards (EN 60950, EN 50155)
QA certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, or CSQA
