Step into a pivotal role where your expertise as a welding inspector and leader will be truly valued and empowered. Advantages
Competitive Compensation: A highly attractive salary of $150,000.
Empowering Culture: Join a supportive team driven by a genuine 'we care' culture where collaboration is second nature.
Meaningful Impact: Deliver customized solutions that drive real results for clients in the energy sector.
Professional Growth: Expand your expertise by leading continuous improvement initiatives and working across diverse projects, including pressure piping, structural steel, and custom fabrication.
Uncompromising Standards: Work for an organization that places safety, quality, and integrity at the core of everything it does.
Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day quality management for the fabrication shop, ensuring all work meets code, client, regulatory, and internal standards.
Oversee critical inspection activities, including ITPs, NDE, pressure testing, and the assembly of comprehensive turnover packages.
Confidently lead client meetings, managing relationships and expectations to ensure fabrication aligns perfectly with project specifications.
Manage NCRs, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rework, improve first-pass quality, and protect the fabrication schedule.
Act as a mentor and coach to QC Inspectors, shop supervision, fitters, and welders on quality expectations.
Qualifications
Experience: Mandatory fabrication shop experience and a proven background as a welding inspector with strong leadership qualities.
Certification: A minimum of CWB Level 2 certification is required (Level 3 or experience with ABSA/CWB structural fabrication is a strong asset).
Technical Skills: Deep understanding of welding, NDE, material traceability, pressure testing, and the ability to read complex drawings and specifications.
Client & Team Leadership: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to confidently navigate client meetings, collaborate with project teams, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Quality Systems: Working knowledge of quality management systems and industry requirements (ABSA, ASME, CSA, CWB, National Board).
