Responsibilities
The DevOps QA specialist will be part of an agile scrum team and play a lead role in the creation of
and maintenance of software test plans and maintenance of automated testing pipelines to
incorporate into our existing deployment pipelines with a focus on iterative, continuous
development, where requirements and solutions evolve through collaboration between crossfunctional
teams.
Qualifications
1. Validates that software meets intended business and technical requirements in an
agile/DevOps environment.
2. Leads and coordinates testing activities through system integration and production
verification.
3. Acts as primary liaison with the Province’s development teams.
4. Participates in backlog refinement and sprint planning to identify testing needs early.
5. Investigates bugs, determines root cause, and documents defects.
6. Conducts automated and manual testing including unit, functional, regression, UAT,
exploratory, integration, performance, and data masking processes.
7. Provides test reports and escalates issues according to severity.
8. Uses modern testing tools such as Cypress, Playwright, PyTest, Selenium, k6 and n8n.
9. Develops and integrates automated tests into CI/CD pipelines running on OpenShift
4.x and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
10. Advocates for quality and continuous improvement by implementing best practices
and providing feedback throughout the development lifecycle.
