The Quality Assurance Technician will conduct pre-operational checks and analyze finished product samples. This role involves ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), finished product specifications, and company quality programs like GMP, Food Safety, and Sanitation. The technician will also prepare corrective action reports and help develop food safety programs. Other duties include assisting with record keeping, maintaining audit compliance, and verifying Critical Control Points (CCP).

Location: Surrey, BC
Hours: Friday to Sunday, 4:00 PM to 4:00 AM
Salary: Starting wage of $24.76 per hour, plus an applicable shift premium
Start Date: As soon as possible

Responsibilities
• Conduct pre-operational checks to ensure readiness.
• Perform sensory and analytical tests on finished product samples to evaluate quality.
• Oversee quality control throughout the production process for in-process and finished goods.
• Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), product specifications, and established quality programs (e.g., GMP, Food Safety, Sanitation).
• Prepare Corrective Action Reports and assist in the creation of new food safety and quality programs.
• Support record keeping, audit compliance, and Critical Control Point (CCP) verification to maintain accuracy.
• Assist with calibrating equipment, troubleshooting optical sorters, and participating in Research and Development projects.
• Manage QA department resources, including auditing and maintaining equipment and supply inventory.
• Conduct regular and spot inspections to ensure facility safety.
• Complete other assigned duties to support the team's goals.
Qualifications
• At least one year of prior experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication abilities, with a focus on writing clear and concise technical reports.
• Strong data entry accuracy and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and relevant computer software.
• Demonstrated skills in problem-solving, organization, and interpersonal communication.
• Familiarity with GMP and HACCP programs.
• Must be available to work the Friday to Sunday, 4:00 PM to 4:00 AM shift.
• Successful completion of a clear background check prior to the start date is required.
• Steel-toed safety shoes are required; Personal Protective Equipment will be provided onsite.
