Responsibilities
Execute standardized lab sample testing on raw materials and intermediate products to ensure adherence to quality specifications.
• Conduct frequent quality audits and inspections directly on the manufacturing floor.
• Collect, label, and prepare production samples for detailed laboratory analysis.
• Maintain meticulous data entry records of all test results and quality findings in central databases.
• Monitor real-time production data to identify, flag, and report any quality deviations to the management team.
• Ensure the laboratory environment is organized and that all testing equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly.
• Work collaboratively with production teams to troubleshoot quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Adhere to all corporate health and safety guidelines and environmental protocols.
• Document findings from the pilot project to assist in the optimization of future manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a Quality Control (QC) role or a laboratory testing environment is highly preferred.
• Must possess and wear 6-inch steel-toe boots at all times while on the production floor.
• Proven proficiency in data entry and the use of standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle, as the St. Mary's site is not transit-accessible.
• Flexibility to adhere to a continental day shift rotation (12-hour shifts).
• High school diploma or equivalent; a post-secondary certificate in quality control or a related field is an asset.
• Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods and perform light lifting (less than 25 lbs).
• A track record of reliability, punctuality, and professional conduct in an industrial setting.
