Quality Assurance

In the role of Quality Control Worker, your primary focus will be conducting lab sample testing and leveraging data analytics to drive quality improvements. You will be responsible for the systematic collection of samples, performing detailed physical or chemical testing, and ensuring that every data point is accurately recorded in our internal tracking systems. This position is ideal for an individual who is highly safety-conscious, thrives when working independently, and remains composed and effective in a loud, fast-paced industrial environment. Since this is a specialized pilot project, your work as a Quality Control Worker will directly influence the success and evolution of the facility's quality protocols.

The day-to-day environment for this Quality Control Worker position involves frequent collaboration with production staff and requires the physical ability to navigate a manufacturing floor and laboratory, including the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Please be advised that because the facility is located in St. Mary's and is not serviced by public transit, the successful Quality Control Worker candidate must have their own reliable transportation.

SKILLS:
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to detect minor variations in product samples.

Responsibilities
Execute standardized lab sample testing on raw materials and intermediate products to ensure adherence to quality specifications.
• Conduct frequent quality audits and inspections directly on the manufacturing floor.
• Collect, label, and prepare production samples for detailed laboratory analysis.
• Maintain meticulous data entry records of all test results and quality findings in central databases.
• Monitor real-time production data to identify, flag, and report any quality deviations to the management team.
• Ensure the laboratory environment is organized and that all testing equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly.
• Work collaboratively with production teams to troubleshoot quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Adhere to all corporate health and safety guidelines and environmental protocols.
• Document findings from the pilot project to assist in the optimization of future manufacturing processes.

Qualifications
Previous experience in a Quality Control (QC) role or a laboratory testing environment is highly preferred.
• Must possess and wear 6-inch steel-toe boots at all times while on the production floor.
• Proven proficiency in data entry and the use of standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle, as the St. Mary's site is not transit-accessible.
• Flexibility to adhere to a continental day shift rotation (12-hour shifts).
• High school diploma or equivalent; a post-secondary certificate in quality control or a related field is an asset.
• Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods and perform light lifting (less than 25 lbs).
• A track record of reliability, punctuality, and professional conduct in an industrial setting.
