We are currently seeking a dedicated Quality Control Worker to join our Manufacturing & Logistics team.
In this role, you will be the final line of defense in the production process, ensuring that every door system leaving the assembly line meets our client's rigorous specifications. This is a temporary position starting at one month, but for the right candidate who demonstrates reliability and a strong aptitude for Manufacturing & Logistics processes, there is potential for the role to be extended based on business needs.
As a Quality Control Worker, you will play a pivotal role in the Manufacturing & Logistics operations of a busy production facility. You will be stationed at the end of the assembly line, responsible for the visual and physical inspection of finished door systems and components. Your primary objective is to identify defects, deviations from specifications, or any irregularities that could compromise the quality of the final product. You will work closely with the production team to communicate issues immediately, ensuring that waste is minimized and efficiency is maintained.
This position requires a high level of concentration and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be handling various measuring tools and using your judgment to grade products against established quality standards. Beyond simple inspection, you will contribute to the overall safety and organization of the Manufacturing & Logistics floor by maintaining a clean workspace and adhering to all safety protocols. Responsibilities
• Perform visual and physical inspections of door systems and components as they come off the assembly line to ensuring they meet strict quality standards.
• Identify and reject products that contain defects such as scratches, dents, misalignment, or structural flaws.
• Utilize basic measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, gauges) to verify product dimensions against technical specifications.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of defects for the Manufacturing & Logistics management team.
• Communicate immediate quality concerns to line supervisors to prevent the continued production of defective units.
• Sort and separate defective products for rework or disposal according to company procedures.
• Assist in packaging finished products once they have passed inspection to ensure they are ready for shipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, removing debris and potential hazards from the inspection station.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety policies, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Collaborate with other team members to meet daily production targets while maintaining quality accuracy.
Qualifications
• Previous experience in a Quality Control or Inspection role is mandatory.
• Experience working in a Manufacturing & Logistics or general labour environment.
• CSA-approved safety shoes are required.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Reliable transportation to the Thornhill area for an 8:00 AM start.
• Ability to commit to the full duration of the contract.
