Responsibilities
• Conducting design risk assessments (dFMEA)
• Reviewing technical specifications (including CAD drawings and validation protocols)
• Performing on-site process risk assessments (pFMEA) at vendors’ manufacturing locations
• Developing and implementing quality control plans for engineered materials, subassemblies, and finished goods
• Providing subject matter expertise in quality engineering to internal teams and external manufacturing partners
• Leading technical reviews and ensure deliverables meet quality and compliance standards
• Driving cross-functional collaboration to resolve quality-related challenges
• Supporting vendor onboarding in collaboration with internal teams and Hongkong Sourcing Office teams
• Defining and enforce quality standards and protocols for raw materials, engineered materials, sub-assemblies and finished goods
• Reviewing Critical to Process (CTP) parameters and ensure process capability (CPK) compliance
• Conducting on-site audits, risk assessments, and oversee pilot runs and top-of-production evaluations
• Partnering with vendor quality teams to establish and validate quality control plans and CTP implementation for bulk production
• Participating in design risk assessments (dFMEA) to proactively identify and mitigate potential failure modes in early-stage product concepts
• Conducting comprehensive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews to ensure product designs are optimized for scalable, cost-effective, and high-quality production
• Critically evaluating technical documentation—including tech packs, CAD models, and engineering drawings—for completeness, dimensional accuracy, tolerance alignment, and compliance with internal and international standards (e.g., ISO, ANSI, DIN)
• Assessing prototype builds for functional performance, structural integrity, and manufacturability, providing feedback to design and development teams to refine component and assembly designs
• Evaluating material specifications and third-party test reports to ensure conformance with internal quality standards, regulatory requirements, and performance benchmarks
• Collaborating with Raw Material Quality teams to investigate material non-conformities, implement corrective actions, and approve materials for production release
• Partnering with subject matter experts to design and execute comprehensive test plans for seasonal and bulk material validation, including but not limited to:
• Mechanical testing (e.g., tensile strength, elongation, tear resistance, abrasion resistance)
• Environmental testing (e.g., UV exposure, hydrolysis, thermal aging, weathering simulations)
• Chemical testing (e.g., REACH, RoHS, restricted substances compliance)
• Performance testing (e.g., waterproofness, breathability, insulation retention, flex fatigue)
• Ensuring test methods align with industry standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO, AATCC) and internal protocols
Qualifications
• bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
• minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing environments, with a focus on metal and/or plastic component production
• demonstrated expertise in plastic injection molding, metal forming, and associated manufacturing technologies
• advanced knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), international standards (e.g., ISO 9001), and compliance protocols
• proficient in the application of engineering quality methodologies, including FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), CTQ (Critical to Quality), and DFM (Design for Manufacturability)
• exceptional analytical, organizational, and technical communication skills
• Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and resolving complex quality and engineering challenges
• You are fluent in English, with the ability and willingness to travel internationally as required
• You are highly adaptable, self-motivated, and collaborative in dynamic, fast-paced environments
