We are currently seeking a Journeyman Heavy-Duty Service Technician to join our skilled service department. This role is ideal for a motivated and experienced professional who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is a skilled and experienced Heavy-Duty Technician who brings both technical expertise and leadership to the team. They will hold a Red Seal Journeyperson certification (or be a 4th-year apprentice working toward it) and have a solid background in construction equipment or dealership service environments.
This individual is a seasoned professional who takes pride in their craftsmanship and is eager to share their knowledge, acting as a mentor and positive influence for junior technicians in the shop and field. They possess a hands-on, can-do attitude, approach challenges with curiosity and initiative, and demonstrate the ability to learn quickly and adapt to new systems and equipment.
Strong problem-solving, diagnostic, and preventative maintenance skills are essential, along with a commitment to safety, teamwork, and delivering high-quality service. Previous experience in equipment maintenance, repair, and diagnostics is required for this position.

Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy-duty construction and agricultural equipment
Complete assigned field and shop tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive and professional attitude
Adhere to all company safety procedures and utilize required personal protective equipment
Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy in all service work
Accurately document service work, parts usage, and job details in a timely manner
Communicate material and parts requirements to ensure efficient workflow
Contribute to cost control, waste reduction, and overall process improvement
Assist with administrative duties, including timesheet completion and equipment reports
Stay up to date with technical training, equipment updates, and company standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, including service vehicles
Support and collaborate with peers to ensure customer satisfaction and service excellence
Qualifications
Inter-Provincial Red Seal Journeyman Certification or equivalent experience
3-5 years of previous experience in a heavy duty service technician role
High school diploma or GED required
Proven experience with heavy-duty off-road, construction, and agricultural equipment
Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Proficiency with diagnostic software, schematics, and repair manuals
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and time management abilities
Committed to workplace safety and continuous improvement
Physical and Working Conditions:
Ability to lift up to 40 kilograms and perform physically demanding tasks
Extended periods of standing, walking, and handling tools or machinery
Exposure to noise, dust, grease, and outdoor weather conditions (hot, cold, or humid environments)
Work may take place both in the shop and on customer sites across the Lower Mainland, with occasional travel as required
Operation of tools, diagnostic equipment, and heavy machinery
Compliance with all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety procedures
Repetitive tasks and handling of heavy components in a fast-paced environment
