Reporting directly to the Field Service Supervisor, the Gas Compression Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and overseeing repairs on a variety of Caterpillar Gas and Diesel engines in the shop and field environments.
This position operates on a 5x2 schedule, based out of our Red Deer facility
Out of town work occasionally required
Shift work may be required
Any future shift changes will be made in accordance with the collective agreement
A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
Advantages
Compensation: $53.42/hr - ($55.51 - after 4m probation)
Shift: 5/2 Monday to Friday (confirm working hours)
Union/Non: Unionized
Classification: Field work (confirm travel radius, and rough % of shop work) Work environment: - client sites, shop, on-site?
Tools: Any expected to be provided by candidate?
Company provided: Vehicle, Laptop, service phone, tools?

PTO: Vacation / Sick Days?
Pension: RRSP/DPSP/Etc.?
Specific PPE: Requires respirator (no big beards)
Responsibilities
Trouble shooting Caterpillar equipment and perform equipment repairs
Interface with customers, products and sales support
Working with the Supervisor on various tasks
Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
Various related duties as required
Qualifications
Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification
Minimum 3 years experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
Completion, or in process of completing, Finning S-level courses
WHMIS certification with previous Caterpillar repair experience
Team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Self-motivated, computer literate, and safety orientated with the ability to work under minimal supervision
Leadership skills and ability to effectively interact with customers
5-year drivers abstract is required
Assets:
Experience in the Gas Compression Industry
Working on Caterpillar gas engines and compressors
Previous field service experience
