Position Title: Heavy Equipment Technician
Location: Fort St John, BC
Schedule: 14 days on, 14 days off
Shifts: 12 hour/days
Wage: $58.96/hr plus 5% Regional Wage Allowance ($2.95/hour -total hourly rate with allowance = $61.91/hour)

Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul natural gas and diesel engines, compressors, and generators
Perform field maintenance and diagnostics
Ensure safety standards are followed on-site
Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams
Handle various related field duties as required
Qualifications
Red Seal Certification (Heavy Equipment Technician, Electrician, or Millwright)
Proven field experience with gas compression equipment, especially G3600 A4
Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently, often in remote locations
Commissioning experience is an asset
You will be fit-tested and able to wear a respirator (position requires the use of a respirator; proper facial fit (e.g., no beards at seal line) is necessary)
Experience with non-CAT equipment (e.g., Waukesha, Ariel, Cummins) is considered an asset
Commitment to safety and excellent communication skills
Physical and Working Conditions
Field-based position working in remote or outdoor environments, including gas plants, well sites, and industrial facilities
Exposure to varying weather conditions (cold, heat, snow, rain) year-round
Physically demanding role requiring lifting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined spaces
Extended periods of standing and operating tools or equipment
May involve working at heights or in noisy environments
14x14 continuous shift rotation, including day and night shifts as required
Travel to and from work sites, sometimes by road or air, with overnight stays as needed
Work is performed in alignment with strict safety and operational protocols
Union Membership:
This position is part of a unionized workforce. Successful candidates will be required to join the applicable union upon hire, with dues deducted from payroll.
Employment terms and conditions are governed by the collective agreement.
