You will be responsible for a comprehensive range of duties, from fabricating specialized components for plant equipment to managing and supervising external subcontractors. You will solve intricate equipment challenges, such as boiler system optimizations, and determine the most cost-effective solutions for the facility. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with plant managers, line staff, and specialized contractors, making strong communication and leadership skills just as important as your technical abilities.

Responsibilities
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and process equipment independently
• Perform comprehensive preventative and corrective maintenance to prevent breakdowns and minimize downtime
• Fabricate custom components for the plant interior and the building's exterior architecture
• Manage, organize, and maintain company tools and maintenance equipment
• Participate actively in planning and preparing the master maintenance schedule
• Communicate regularly with the Plant Manager, maintenance staff, accounts payable, and laboratory teams
• Participate in hiring, supervising, and sourcing multiple quotes for sub-trades including electrical, roofing, and flooring
• Ensure adequate levels of shop supplies and independently source and pick up required plant parts
Qualifications
• Grade 12 High School Diploma or equivalent educational background
• Millwright Red Seal, or Industrial Electrician Red Seal (or close to achieving designation)
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience in a similar industrial or manufacturing setting
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
• Broad equipment maintenance expertise, including machine troubleshooting and general shop experience
• Ability to meet physical labour demands, including moderate to heavy lifting, climbing, and extended periods of standing
• Capacity to work in challenging environmental conditions, including hot, humid areas, heights, and confined spaces
• Must be available for evening shift and remain available for emergency on-call situations
