The Millwright is responsible for ensuring optimal mechanical performance of production equipment and systems, contributing to minimal downtime and enhanced productivity. This role supports operational goals by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs in line with safety, quality, and compliance standards.
This position is based in a high-volume livestock processing facility that specializes in the production of fully cooked and ready-to-cook meat products for retail and foodservice markets. The facility operates under strict food safety, quality, and regulatory standards, with a focus on maintaining efficient production processes while ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.
Position Title: Red Seal Millwright
Location: Abbotsford, BC
Permanent Position x 2 (1 Day & 1 Afternoon)
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Shift: Day ( 6AM start ) Afternoon (2PM start) -shifts are 8 hours with possibility of OT and dependent of operational needs
Wage: $44.00/H
Previous Millwright experience of up to 1-3 years in a food processing or cooking facilities is required
Red Seal certification is required for this position

Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair production and facility equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and building systems.
Overhaul, install, and set up new equipment.
Fabricate and modify parts as needed.
Maintain and update CMMS records, including creating and closing work orders.
Generate parts requests to maintain inventory levels.
Execute production line changes and equipment setups.
Ensure all work adheres to food safety, health & safety, and operational standards.
Maintain clean and organized workspaces (“clean as you go” approach).
Document maintenance work using Microsoft Excel, Word, and internal systems.
Collaborate with team members and other departments to achieve maintenance targets.
Equipment/Systems you may work with include:
Pneumatic, hydraulic, and vacuum systems
Pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, compressors
Sensors, limit switches, PLC input/output feedback
Welding and fabrication tools
Fans, blowers, regulators, and valves
Working Conditions
Exposure to cold, wet, hot, and noisy environments
Physically demanding – includes lifting (up to 23kg), pushing/pulling, bending, crouching
Standing and walking for extended periods
Use of PPE including steel toe boots, smock, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.
Occasional weekend and overtime work may be required
Qualifications
Red Seal Millwright Certification (Interprovincial) – Mandatory
1–3 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance role preferred
Experience in food processing or cooking facilities is required
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics
Familiarity with CMMS systems and basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Email)
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Good communication skills in English (verbal and written)
Steel toe boots and PPE will be required
You are legally permitted to work full-time in British Columbia
