Responsibilities
High-Limit Risk Assessment: Conduct full individual life risk classification, focusing on complex and large-case market files.
Evidence Analysis: Deep-dive into medical, financial, and non-medical data to assess and classify risks accurately.
Strategic Collaboration: Act as a consultant for field partners and advisors, providing high-quality, competitive decisions that differentiate the brand’s service.
Negotiation: Influence outcomes and negotiate effectively with reinsurers on complex cases.
Compliance: Ensure all files meet strict legislative, privacy, and disclosure regulations.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you MUST meet the following criteria:
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5+ years of direct experience as an Individual Life Underwriter is mandatory.
SIGNING AUTHORITY: You MUST have an existing or recent Life signing authority of at least $3M.
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE: Comprehensive knowledge of medical, personal, and financial underwriting is a MUST.
CRITICAL THINKING: Proven ability to analyze complex facts and evidence to make high-stakes risk decisions.
PROFESSIONALISM: Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to self-manage in a remote environment.
Asset Qualifications:
Experience in the Large Case Market.
Professional designations (or progress toward) FALU or FLMI.
Knowledge of Critical Illness risk assessment.
Summary
This role is designed for a technical expert who thrives on high-value cases. You will manage complex individual life risks, utilizing a significant signing authority to provide competitive decisions. This is a "heavyweight" role requiring at least 5 years of experience and a $3M+ signing limit.
