The Capital Infrastructure Project Delivery (CIPD) business unit is looking for highly skilled contract professional to join its team. These consultants will be responsible for hands-on contract management and administration across a diverse range of projects, including construction, engineered supply, and supply-and-install equipment contracts. The ideal candidates will bring expertise in contract execution, risk management, and cost optimization while ensuring compliance and efficiency in project delivery.

• Positions based either at the Vernon, or Edmonds Campus in Burnaby, BC with occasional site travel required. Preference will be given to candidates with interest in working the Vernon or Edmonds offices.
• This position follows a hybrid work model, offering flexibility to work remotely for 3 days per week. This arrangement is contingent upon maintaining performance standards and ensuring productivity aligns with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
• Day to day contract management activities such as managing contract scope, contract changes, claims / disputes, and progression payments. Other duties may include leading progress meetings, monitoring schedules, accrual reporting, tracking submittals and deliverables, interpreting contract terms, and contract close-outs.
• Execute pre-award early involvement activities, such as the review of supply chain strategies, contracting plans, scopes of work, specifications, draft RFx documents and the final contract document. Identify areas of improvement that enhance vendor performance, under the contract.
• Work closely with and provide leadership to project teams to ensure contract execution aligns with project requirements. This includes fostering collaboration, guiding teams through contract processes, and proactively addressing challenges to maintain performance and compliance.
• Oversee contract and resource budgets with the development and management of work packages to ensure efficient allocation, cost control, and alignment with project objectives.
• Monitor, analyze and provide reporting, to the project stakeholders, around contract performance, covering financial metrics and other key indicators.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assist in the design and implementation of innovative strategies to improve internal processes, and to enhance vendor management while optimizing contract spend.
Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as Business, Law, Finance, or Engineering (experience in lieu will be considered)
• Partial or full completion of the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP-PMAC) Designation, International Association of Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM) Certification, and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) Designation is an asset.
• Demonstrated expertise in contract management, including the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders, effectively mitigate risks, and drive cost optimization through innovative approaches.
• Minimum of 12 years progressive experience managing complex contracts
• Experience operating within crown corporations or government environments and/or familiarization with the Utility industry sector would be beneficial.
• Strong technical background or competency in engineering and design is an asset.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal, communications, negotiating, project management, planning and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
