Responsibilities
Set up and operate automatic sanding machines for wood surface preparation
Adjust machine settings based on wood type, thickness, and required finish
Inspect materials during and after sanding to ensure consistent quality
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot basic mechanical issues
Coordinate with production staff to maintain workflow and deadlines
Keep equipment and surrounding work areas clean and safe
Qualifications
Machine operator experience in a wood manufacturing or production setting is preferred
Willingness to be trained on automated sanding equipment
Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn machine controls and maintenance
Good attention to detail and commitment to product quality
Ability to stand, bend, and lift throughout the shift
CSA-approved steel toe boots required
