Our client is seeking a SAP ABAP Development Specialist for this is a 6-month hybrid contract with a potential 6-month extension. You will be working 2–3 days onsite each week at the Toronto office.

Responsibilities
• Design, document, develop, and unit test ABAP development objects in S/4HANA and ECC
• Work across the full SDLC for both project and sustainment deliverables
• Provide input during requirements, design, and specification review phases
• Support integration activities with SAP and non-SAP systems (via IDocs, REST APIs, etc.)
• Conduct code reviews and QA assessments using tools like ABAP Test Cockpit
• Perform defect remediation and support testing cycles (including escalation to SAP)
• Deliver technical documentation, run procedures, and support handover plans
• Coach and mentor internal team members in ABAP, Eclipse ADT, GitLab, and BAS
• Collaborate with integrator teams to review technical design and documentation
• Assist with SAP Workflow, Adobe forms, enhancements (BADIs, Exits), and Fiori
• Support analytics/reporting using Embedded Analytics or SAP Analytics Cloud
Qualifications
Must Have
• 10+ years of ABAP Development experience (including ABAP Objects, 7.4/7.5 syntax)
• Deep understanding of RICEFW object development across SAP S/4HANA and ECC
• Hands-on experience with Eclipse ADT, SAPGUI, Business Application Studio
• Integration expertise with APIs (OData, REST, SOAP), IDocs, and middleware
• Fiori app development and experience with CDS Views, SEGW, and RAP
• Strong experience with enhancements (BADIs, BTEs, Exits, implicit/explicit enhancements)
• Experience in SAP modules: FI, CO, FM, GM, TRM, MM, SD (RE, PM, HCM – asset)
• Proficiency with ABAP Test Cockpit, Code Inspector, and performing code reviews
• Experience using SAP Solution Manager, Jira, HPQC for change and issue management
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies
• Strong technical documentation and knowledge-sharing capabilities
Nice to Have
⭐ Cloud Integration (CI), iFlows, AIF
⭐ GitLab version control and CI/CD familiarity
⭐ Experience with SAP Workflow, Adobe Forms, and SAP Analytics Cloud
