Responsibilities
-Design, document, develop, and unit test required development objects adhering to current best practices in SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC for both project and sustainment development deliverables.
- Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle (SDLC) including initiation, planning, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of SAP applications for both project and sustainment development deliverables.
- Report status, highlight risks and issues and make recommendations to streamline development and ensure high quality deliverables that are on time and on budget.
- Support defect investigation and remediation for all development objects in SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC during project testing cycles including escalation with SAP if required.
- Design and implementation of processes and procedures required to sustain development objects within operations including but not limited to error handling and monitoring.
- Provide knowledge transfer sessions including presentations and documentation for development deliverables.
- Fully document development deliverables including technical specifications, technical unit tests and run procedures.
- Provide knowledge sharing sessions for development techniques and select development objects that have been developed throughout the duration of the project i.e. not just developed as part of this assignment.
- Provide coaching and share knowledge with the development team members thereby assisting in the upskilling of the developers to enable the sustainment of the development objects created as part of the project.
- Review of documents, processes and procedures provided by the system integrator.
- Perform code and Quality Assurance (QA) reviews for City and System Integrator.
- Assist with integration activities with divisional systems
- Assist in the design of project/sustainment procedures including but not limited to QA, Fiori application management etc.
Qualifications
1. Post-secondary education in computer science, or the approved equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Development related certification is considered an asset.
2. A minimum of 10+ years hands-on experience in ABAP Development (including ABAP Objects and ABAP 7.4 and 7.5 Syntax) spanning the full RICEFW development object spectrum in SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC.
3. Experience performing and managing the full SDLC for development deliverables including the preparation of comprehensive documentation and knowledge transfer.
4. Experience providing input and subject matter expertise during requirements gathering, design and functional specification preparation as well as providing feedback during functional specification review.
5. Experience mentoring, coaching, and sharing knowledge with developers to assist with hands-on learning and overall upskilling of the team. This includes RICEFW development and tools/applications including but not limited to Business Application Studio, Eclipse ADT and Gitlab.
6. Experience using tools such as: SAP Solution Manager (Project Management, Change Management, Service Request, and Incident Management), Jira, and SAP Quality Center by HP(HPQC).
7. Experience in project methodologies such as: Agile, Waterfall, etc.
Technical Capabilities:
1. Development experience with Eclipse ADT and SAPGUI.
2. Experience in integration between SAP S/4HANA/ECC and other systems/applications using a variety of methods including IDocs and APIs (OData, REST APIs and SOAP Webservices). Experience with Cloud
Integration (CI) Integration Flows (iFlows) or other middleware and Application Interface Framework (AIF) are considered assets.
3. Experience with the Gateway Service Builder (SEGW), Core Data Services (CDS) and ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
4. Fiori application development experience. Business Application Studio (BAS) and Gitlab experience are considered assets.
5. Experience creating reports using various techniques including Embedded Analytics and/or SAP Analytics Cloud.
6. Experience implementing enhancements including BADi’s, Customer Exits, BTE’s, explicit enhancement spots and sections, and implicit enhancements.
7. Experience with forms including SAP Adobe forms.
8. Experience with SAP Workflow.
9. Experience with ABAP Test Cockpit and/or Code inspector as well as performing Quality Assurance and Code reviews.
10. Demonstrated experience in the SAP Modules FI, CO, FM, GM, TRM, MM and SD. Experience with RE, PM and HCM considered an asset.
