As an SAP Business Warehouse Development Specialist, you will bridge the gap between legacy data platforms, modern cloud analytics solutions, and business intelligence reporting. Operating within a hybrid work model in Toronto, you will lead the evolution of enterprise data platforms, design scalable data models in SAP Datasphere, optimize ETL process flows, and configure secure data pipelines connecting SAP and non-SAP source systems. Responsibilities
Analyze existing data warehouse architectures, translate complex reporting requirements into scalable data structures, and design dimensional data models.
Build, configure, and evolve cloud data products, semantic models, and analytical consumption views within SAP Datasphere, BDC, and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
Design and implement data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) processes, including real-time replication flows, process chains, and task chains.
Develop and optimize complex SQL scripts, stored procedures, table functions, and Core Data Services (CDS) views for embedded analytics.
Architect secure data interfaces and replication flows between on-premises and cloud environments utilizing SDI, SDA, ODP frameworks, and REST/SOAP APIs.
Manage, configure, and secure spaces, source system connections, role-based access controls, and object privileges across the cloud data landscape.
Support modernization initiatives, system upgrades, readiness checks, and migration activities connecting legacy BW environments to modern cloud platforms.
Perform data validation, reconciliation, performance tuning, and quality assurance to ensure consistency across enterprise reporting environments.
Provide production operational support, monitoring data loads, resolving incidents, and managing SLA commitments during critical business cycles.
Author comprehensive technical design specifications, process flow diagrams, deployment guidelines, solution runbooks, and RFP technical scoping documentation.
Qualifications
Core Technical & SAP Data Warehousing Requirements
SAP BW & HANA Tenure: Minimum 10+ years of hands-on experience in SAP BW/HANA projects, including data architecture, dimensional modeling, ETL, and enterprise reporting.
Advanced BW Objects: Extensive experience working with Advanced DSOs (ADSOs), Open ODS Views, Composite Providers, and Core Data Services (CDS) views.
SAP Datasphere & Cloud Analytics: Demonstrated expertise designing data models, graphical views, replication flows, and semantic layers within SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
Integration Frameworks: Hands-on experience integrating SAP source systems (S/4HANA, ECC, Ariba, SuccessFactors) and non-SAP sources using SDI, SDA, SLT, ODP, and APIs.
SQL & Database Scripting: Advanced proficiency in writing complex SQL scripts, stored procedures, and table functions for performance-optimized data flows.
Education: University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Preferred Experience & Governance Assets
System Modernization & Migration: Proven track record in BW system upgrades, greenfield/brownfield implementations, and cloud migration frameworks.
