Responsibilities
As an SAP Functional Consultant, you will be responsible for:
- Providing essential hypercare support, including triaging support tickets, troubleshooting, identifying issues, and leading defect resolution processes.
- Supporting the prioritization and implementation of changes deferred to the post-go-live period.
- Configuring SAP S/4HANA for prioritized changes and validating proposed functionality, ensuring alignment with leading/best practices, specifically within Project Systems, Asset Accounting, and Asset Retirement Obligation.
- Developing functional specifications for all necessary development objects.
- Creating, reviewing, and updating test scripts and test cases, identifying test data, executing tests, and managing documentation/business sign-off.
- Updating business process documentation and providing input on policy updates to support newly implemented functionality.
- Developing risk mitigation strategies, communication materials, and any necessary new or updated training content.
- Collaborating with Business Process Leads and vendor teams to inform the design, development, and configuration of the SAP solution and its integration with other systems.
- Providing SAP expertise and leadership to the finance and asset management teams (A2R).
- Analyzing end-to-end PS, AA, and ARO processes to identify areas for improvement and leverage standard SAP functionality.
- Identifying linkages to other key processes to support reporting.
- Providing leadership related to business processes, accounting principles, system configuration, enhancements, and data management.
Qualifications
Must-Have Experience:
- A minimum of 10+ years of hands-on experience in large project/program management.
- Expertise in SAP S/4HANA modules, specifically Project Systems (PS), Asset Accounting (AA), and Asset Retirement Obligation (ARO), and strong knowledge of integration with SAP Finance, Controlling, and Materials Management.
- Extensive experience providing hypercare support during a project implementation, including troubleshooting and problem resolution in the post-go-live period.
- Expertise in configuration of S/4HANA modules PS, AA, and ARO.
- Experience in delivering a minimum of two (2) end-to-end SAP implementations.
- Strong knowledge of test methodologies and extensive experience with various project management processes, techniques, and tools (Agile, Waterfall, Iterative, PMBOK, or SAP Activate).
- Strong critical thinking, strategic planning, and process management skills to minimize risks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable and confident communicating with all levels of stakeholders.
Assets:
- SAP Certification in PS or AA.
- Experience or knowledge in Asset Planning, Budgeting, Settlement, Close Out, Asset Account, and Asset Retirement Obligation.
- Experience with S/4HANA implementation in a public sector environment.
- Working knowledge of SAP Solution Manager Change Request.
