As a principal SAP architect, you will bridge the gap between core business transformation goals and technical execution across large-scale ecosystems. Operating within a high-visibility project environment, you will lead the architecture and integration design for core SAP modules (including S/4HANA Finance, Payroll, Funds Management, and Materials Management), govern enterprise data consistency, and collaborate with solution suppliers to deliver secure, scalable enterprise solutions. Align technical architectures with long-term business strategies, product roadmaps, release availability matrices, and mainstream maintenance lifecycles.
Govern integrations between SAP S/4HANA systems and auxiliary enterprise platforms (e.g., OpenText document management, real-time budget checking, and workflow engines).
Ensure seamless linkage between SAP Payroll and S/4HANA Finance to maintain business continuity across financial and HR operations.
Review the impact of proposed solution designs on existing security roles, enterprise data objects, coding block structures, and data governance frameworks.
Oversee data migration strategies, data profiling, reconciliation, and post-load validation across project phases.
Guide project teams in developing cost-effective solution designs, balancing configuration, custom code, license models, security, and infrastructure requirements using SAP best practices.
Author strategic options papers, decision records, process maps, configuration guides, and knowledge-transfer documentation to support operational sustainment.
Collaborate closely with PMO leads, internal technology squads, business partners, and external suppliers to resolve integration bottlenecks and maintain delivery momentum.
Qualifications
Core Technical & Architectural Requirements
Senior Professional Tenure: Minimum of 20+ years of hands-on experience in large-scale project and program management within government jurisdictions or major private sector organizations.
Full-Lifecycle Implementations: Proven track record of delivering at least 5 end-to-end SAP implementations (with at least 1 implementation delivered in a public sector environment).
S/4HANA Module Depth: Deep expertise and configuration experience across SAP S/4HANA modules, including Finance (FI), Controlling (CO), Accounts Payable (AP), Funds Management (FM), Grants Management (GM), Project Systems (PS), Asset Accounting (AA), and Asset Retirement Obligation (ARO).
Enterprise Integration Expertise: Proven experience designing and building complex business integrations between SAP systems and non-SAP platforms.
Methodology & Quality Assurance: Strong knowledge of testing methodologies and extensive experience with traditional and modern project management frameworks (PMBOK, SAP Activate, Agile, Waterfall, Iterative).
Preferred Assets & Certifications
Financial Certifications: Active CPA designation or SAP Certification in Finance is considered a strong asset.
