Position: Scale Operator
Position Type: Contract (3 months)
Location: Surrey, BC -Location is a 20-minute walk from Scott Road Station. A vehicle is preferred for this position
Schedule: Monday-Friday + Saturdays
Shift Time: 7:30AM-4:00PM (8AM-2:30 PM on Saturdays)
Wage: $26.00/H
You can meet the shift and schedule requirements
You are comfortable working in a physically demanding and outdoor environment
Equipment On-Site: Shredder, forklifts, skid steers, loaders, scrap handlers, mobile and stationary shears, car crusher, rock trucks, vacuum truck
You have CSA approved Steel Toe Boots
This is a full-time position, the ideal candidate will need to be available to start immediately.
You are legally permitted to work full-time in British Columbia

Responsibilities
* Operate inbound and outbound truck scales to determine load weights
* Evaluate and grade incoming scrap materials
* Direct customers to appropriate unloading areas and communicate site safety procedures
* Collaborate with office personnel to ensure accurate transaction documentation
* Provide pricing information and maintain a high level of customer service
* Complete DMV forms for all incoming vehicles as required
* Regularly test scale equipment and report malfunctions
* Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations
* Perform other duties or special projects as assigned
Qualifications
* You are comfortable working in a covered outdoor environment in all types of weather
* You can meet the schedule and shift time requirements: Monday-Friday + Saturdays / 7:30AM-4:00PM (8AM-2:30 PM on Saturdays)
* High School diploma or GED preferred
* 3–5 years of relevant experience in a similar or industrial role preferred
* Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
* Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
* Basic computer skills and comfort using scale software
* Strong communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
* Customer-focused with a team-player attitude
* No physical limitations and ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and stand/walk for 8 hour shift
* Good attitude and can work well with no supervision and with the team
* You have High Ankle Steel Toe Boots with Toe Cover (metatarsal protector)
* Located in Surrey, BC
* Vehicle is preferred for this role -Location is a 20-minute walk from Scott Road Station.
