In this strategic Agile leadership role, you will act as a servant leader and change agent, guiding 2 to 3 cross-functional software development squads within a Scaled Agile framework. You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement, removing operational impediments, facilitating core Agile ceremonies, and shielding engineering teams from outside distractions. Working in a hybrid environment, you will partner closely with Product Owners, control partners, and senior leaders to optimize flow, maintain work-in-progress (WIP) limits, monitor delivery metrics, and foster a highly collaborative, high-performing squad culture.
Position Title: Scrum Master II (Scaled Agile)
Duration: 12-Month Contract (with high potential for extension or permanent conversion)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Currently 2 days per week on-site at corporate offices; schedule subject to future adjustments)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, core business hours

Responsibilities
Multi-Team Agile Leadership: Serve as Scrum Master for 2 to 3 software development squads within a Scaled Agile context, facilitating daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and scaled alignment sessions.
Impediment Management: Proactively identify, track, and resolve team blockers, engaging cross-functional stakeholders and control partners to maintain delivery momentum.
Flow & WIP Management: Enforce Work-In-Progress (WIP) limits set with Product Owners to ensure predictable, continuous delivery and prevent team burnout.
Product Backlog Transparency: Ensure all active team tasks are accounted for in the Product Backlog, eliminating hidden work and protecting squads from external interruptions.
Metrics & Continuous Improvement: Utilize Jira to track sprint metrics, flow analysis, and team health assessments to drive data-led performance improvements.
Stakeholder & Change Enablement: Act as a change agent to guide senior leaders and diverse teams on applying an Agile mindset, facilitating conflict resolution and cross-functional alignment.
Qualifications
Scrum Master Experience: 3+ years of dedicated experience as a Scrum Master, supported by 5+ years of overall experience within software development environments.
Scaled Agile Expertise: 5+ years of proven experience operating as a Scrum Master in complex, Scaled Agile (SAFe/scaled framework) environments.
Certification: Active Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent recognized credential (e.g., PSM I, SAFe SSM).
Jira & Tooling Mastery: Proficiency with Jira and 3+ years of experience with enterprise Agile management software.
Servant Leadership & Facilitation: Exceptional facilitation, conflict resolution, and influence skills with a proven ability to guide teams and senior leaders without direct authority.
Risk & Flow Analysis: Strong risk management abilities to identify critical-path dependencies and analyze squad flow metrics.
Education: Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred Assets & Nice-to-Haves
Familiarity with alternative Agile frameworks such as Kanban, systems thinking, or design thinking.
Experience operating in regulated industries, particularly Financial Services or Banking.
Background in DevOps, continuous delivery environments, or organizational change management.
