Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Month-End: Accurately prepare and record complex monthly journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Reconciliations & Forecasting: Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations and assist with forecasting expenses for assigned accounts.
- Audit & Compliance: Support internal and external audit requests, maintain Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, and identify potential control weaknesses.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with plant accountants, department heads, and third-party providers to gather data for analysis and forecasting.
- Process Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to financial controls and maintain detailed process documentation.
- Mentorship: Act as a point of contact for general accounting queries and serve as a mentor to staff accountants.
- Analysis: Create complex tables and packages for quarter-end and year-end analysis on high-priority accounts.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required; CPA designation is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills
- Soft Skills: Must be a self-starter with the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment regarding confidential matters.
- Adaptability: Ability to learn new systems quickly and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
