Responsibilities
- Oversee and lead the monthly financial close, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in line with ASPE standards.
- Prepare, review, and analyze month-end accounting entries, including inventory, accruals, and variance analyses.
- Manage account reconciliations and deliver accurate financial insights.
- Prepare all deliverables for the annual financial statement audit, including working papers, schedules, financial statements, and corporate tax return details. Serve as the key liaison with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Lead semi-annual inventory counts across all store locations.
- Review and manage monthly sales tax filings in multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance and accurate reconciliations.
- Support preparation of monthly and periodic board meeting materials and reporting packages.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support privacy and data governance initiatives and contribute to regulatory compliance.
- Review and mentor the work of Junior Accountants, fostering a supportive, inclusive, and team-oriented environment.
- Act as the Finance representative in cross-functional projects, providing financial insights and ensuring alignment.
- Lead and participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance financial operations and system capabilities.
- Assist management with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects.
- Support annual insurance renewals and related compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- CPA designation
- 5–7 years of accounting experience
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Background in public practice
- Demonstrated ownership and accountability for your work
