Responsibilities
As the Lead, Financial Operations, you will ensure the seamless execution of daily financial activities, primarily by owning the monthly financial close and serving as the lead contact for the year-end audit. Backfilling a manager seconded to a strategic integration project, you will provide critical oversight by reviewing journal entries and reconciliations while managing treasury functions, including bank account liquidity, fraud prevention, and the distribution of claims and commission payments. This role demands a high degree of autonomy to implement process changes and resolve unique banking transactions, requiring frequent collaboration with the CFO, department VPs, and external auditors to maintain a robust internal control environment. To be successful, you must be a designated CPA with 5 to 7 years of accounting experience and a proven track record of validating the work of others, ideally within the insurance sector. You will leverage exceptional communication skills and a sharp attention to detail to act as a "steady hand" for the finance team, ensuring business-as-usual excellence while navigating a high-growth, hybrid work environment in the Cambridge area.
