This is a newly created role, reporting to the Director of Finance and we are seeking someone who has deep expertise and knowledge of IFRS. Your primary responsibilities will include leading the month-end close process, managing tax compliance, and supporting external audits.

Responsibilities
The successful Talent will be the primary resource responsible for the integrity of financial reporting and key compliance activities:
-Lead the Month-End Close: Take full ownership of all month-end closing activities, preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling key accounts, and ensuring all reporting deadlines are met and compliant with internal/external standards.
- IFRS Lease Accounting: Independently manage the complete IFRS 16 lease accounting process, including classification, measurement, and disclosure.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and file monthly consumption tax returns (GST/HST/QST). Assist with annual corporate tax filings alongside external advisors.
- External Reporting & Audit: Support quarterly and annual financial reporting by compiling required disclosures and preparing detailed supporting schedules. Act as a key liaison for internal and external audits.
- Internal Controls & Governance: Monitor and maintain compliance with established internal control requirements, accounting policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including reviewing general ledger usage.
- Regulatory Monitoring: Proactively stay informed of changes in accounting standards (IFRS) and tax legislation, assessing the impact and implementing necessary changes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
- CPA designation required with a minimum of 3 years of post-designation experience. (Foreign designations in good standing will be considered, as well).
- Strong, non-negotiable knowledge of IFRS, IFRS 16, and GST/HST/QST is essential.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools. PowerBI experience is an asset.
- Experience in multi-currency reporting is an asset.
- Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication abilities for cross-functional collaboration.
