Responsibilities
- Lead the drafting and implementation of corporate-wide accounting policies and related policy papers.
- Perform technical accounting research on new IFRS standards and ensure organizational compliance.
- Conduct significant contract technical accounting review for complex or non-routine transactions.
- Support the Financial Reporting team during close cycles with the preparation of financial statements, MD&A, and IFRS disclosures.
- Maintain key monthly Technical Accounting workbooks and related controls.
- Act as a cross-functional advisor to divisional finance teams and manage internal/external audit requests.
Qualifications
- CPA or CPA, CA designation or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience in public accounting (audit/advisory) or public companies.
- Expert knowledge of IFRS and public company accounting requirements (US GAAP is an asset).
- Experience with major finance systems like JD Edwards ERP and/or OneStream CPM is highly desirable.
- Advanced Excel skills and superior analytical ability to handle large volumes of financial data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to explain complex technical issues clearly.
