Responsibilities
- Define business and technical objectives to create a detailed migration plan, including architecture, timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Evaluate existing SQL Server infrastructure, data models, and system dependencies to establish a baseline for modernization.
- Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to capture functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring alignment with corporate mandates.
- Conduct gap analyses to recommend optimal Azure-based solutions, such as Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, or SQL Server on Azure VMs.
- Work closely with Cloud Architects, DBAs, and Data Engineers to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with enterprise data standards.
- Present findings, progress reports, and success metrics to leadership, ensuring transparent communication across business units.
- Incorporate data security, privacy, and compliance requirements into the migration strategy to ensure adherence to data retention mandates.
- Facilitate training initiatives and organizational change management to support the transition to cloud-based environments.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in IT or data-centric environments.
- Proven track record with SQL Server and cloud migration projects, specifically within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of Azure database services (Azure SQL DB, Managed Instance) and integration tools like Azure Data Factory.
- Solid experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and performance tuning in cloud-native environments.
- Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
- Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business strategies for non-technical stakeholders.
