Responsibilities
Lead requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to understand business objectives and document detailed business requirements.
Analyze and document current business processes and workflows, identifying and defining opportunities for improvement and optimization, including through the use of technology.
Develop comprehensive business cases outlining costs, benefits, and risks of proposed solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, operations, management) to align business and technology solutions.
Create clear, complete, and feasible functional specifications and user stories for implementation.
Conduct impact analysis for proposed changes and enhancements to existing systems and processes.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior business analysts and team members.
Participate in testing and quality assurance efforts to ensure solutions meet business requirements and are fit for purpose.
Assist in the development and delivery of training materials for end users.
Act as a liaison between departmental end-users, technical teams, consultants, and other governmental organizations during solution analysis, design, configuration, testing, and maintenance.
Interpret technical literature and translate it for end-users or non-technical staff.
Plan, organize, and conduct business process reengineering/improvement projects and management reviews.
Consolidate information into cohesive and understandable correspondence for management decision-making.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Commerce, or an equivalent field.
Minimum of fifteen (10) years of experience as a business analyst.
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in process analysis, re-engineering, and documenting requirements, use cases, and user stories.
Minimum of ten (10) years of experience working on projects in an Agile environment.
Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies and tools.
Excellent communication, consulting, client relationship, and analytical skills, including the ability to clearly communicate complex technical and business concepts and negotiate change.
Strong political acumen and critical thinking skills.
Capable of effectively identifying and framing problems, collecting information, and integrating it to produce timely and thoughtful decisions.
Mandatory:
Strong IT background with experience in Security and Infrastructure specific projects.
Azure experience and experience with large, multiple projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
Accreditation from IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysis) is considered an asset.
Knowledge of the Business Analysis Book of Knowledge (BABOK) is considered an asset.
