Responsibilities
- Gather and document business and system requirements, identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- Document changes to business and system specifications and validate requirements through fit-gap analysis.
- Develop functional and non-functional requirements, including functional design specifications, screen mock-ups, and report layouts.
- Create use case models, 'as is' and 'to be' business processes, and activity and entity relationship diagrams using BPM/BPMN/UML.
- Contribute to user experience activities, such as wireframing and UI/UX prototyping.
- Provide business and technical support throughout the project lifecycle, from design and analysis to testing and implementation.
- Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
- Communicate and collaborate with management, business groups, and the project team to deliver project documentation.
- Conduct feasibility studies on integrating technology and processes.
- Work closely with the project team to deliver software solutions.
- Prepare business operational procedures and training materials.
- Facilitate project rollout and provide support for other project activities as required.
Qualifications
- A university degree in computer science or a related discipline, along with 7+ years of experience on large-scale IT projects, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Extensive experience in requirements gathering, impact analysis, and facilitating design sessions.
- Proven ability to lead the business requirements definition process and document proposals.
- 7+ years of experience preparing project documentation, including business and functional requirements, business process workflows, and data modeling blueprints.
- 5+ years of experience in evaluating digital solutions, conducting feasibility studies, and providing technical consultation.
- Experience in a public sector setting, specifically with modernization projects.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong technical skills in Business Process Modeling (BPM), BPMN, and Unified Modeling Language (UML).
- Experience in supporting new software procurements (SaaS/RFx).
- Familiarity with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Security Threat and Risk Assessment (STRA), and Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA).
