High-Level Description
The Senior Civil Engineer can serve as the engineering lead on assigned facilities projects. This includes overseeing the design for projects executed by third party engineering firms to ensure they are in compliance with Company and Industry standards and specifications and managed to the project scope, budget, and schedule. Liaise with other Enbridge internal functional groups within Project Execution, Operations and Shared Services to ensure project and company requirements are achieved and incorporated into the design deliverables.

Specific Accountabilities
Takes ownership for and oversees the engineering project scope, schedule, capital cost estimate, execution planning, risks and supporting information related to assigned projects from project development through closeout
Ensures that all assigned projects are designed fit for purpose and in accordance with all regulations, environmental, health and safety, applicable industry codes, and corporate standards. e.g. building codes
Manages, reviews, and approves the execution of the design deliverables by a third-party engineering firm e.g. drawings, technical reports and material listing sheets against the project budget and schedule
Manage reviews of technical reports (e.g: Geotech Borehole SOW, aquifer assessments, structural analysis for steel or concrete structures, etc)
Reviews vendor materials quotations, evaluates technical bids and recommends selections based on technical merit along with price and delivery. Collaborates with Supply Chain to procure material via internal tools.
Leads and/or supports business initiatives e.g. cost saving opportunities in line with business justification for projects
Provides technical guidance to others on the team based upon technical expertise and recommends opportunities for improvement via lessons learned, technical standard change requests, engineering management plans, contractor evaluations, etc.
Coordinates and provides support to Design reviews, Constructability reviews, and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) reviews, etc.
Reviews lessons learned from past projects and incorporates recommendations into future design

Facility projects within the following business units and locations: LP US and CAN
Facility projects include work inside of facilities (e.g. booster pumps, cooling facilities, piping, pump stations, manifolds, mechanical equipment, valves, pig traps, storage tanks, terminals, etc)
Oversees the development and/or implementation of technical solutions, ensuring efficient coordination of technical resources and with other internal and external stakeholders
Provides informal leadership to peers
