We're partnered with an award winning Public Sector organization whose looking for a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Specialize to join their IT Services Operatons Branch in a permanent full-time position based in Victoria, BC!
In this technical leadership role, you will be a driving force in our transformation from traditional on-premise solutions to modern cloud environments, specifically focusing on Microsoft Azure and Oracle OCI technologies. You will work closely with the Hybrid Infrastructure team to design, deploy, and manage secure, high-availability cloud infrastructure while providing vital mentorship and coaching to the technical team.
This position is based in Victoria, BC and works hybrid on-site (2 days/week). For candidates not based in Victoria will need to be open and available to move to Victoria, BC.

Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & IaC: Translate cloud strategy into resilient technical implementations using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration solutions like Azure Resource Manager.
Operations & Automation: Engineer automated workflows for provisioning to reduce manual intervention and maintain a reliable, scalable infrastructure.
Observability & Monitoring: Deploy and maintain solutions such as Dynatrace and Azure Monitor to enhance system visibility and proactive incident response
People Management: Supervise staff, develop performance plans, determine team goals, and serve as a mentor and coach to foster career growth.
Security & Compliance: Enforce cloud security frameworks (including IAM, encryption, and key management) to ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
Core Experience: Minimum of five years managing Azure cloud infrastructure, including virtual servers, networking (VPN, transit gateways), and identity management. In addition, any hands-on experience with Oracle OCI cloud infrastructure is a big bonus.
Specialized Experience: At least three years of hands-on experience with cloud observability and performance tools like Dynatrace and Azure Monitor.
Leadership: Proven experience leading and supervising a team of IT professionals.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of IAM (Entra ID, RBAC), SDLC, ITIL processes, and cloud security controls.
