Responsibilities
Architectural Design: Develop and implement end-to-end data architectures, including the determination of data flow, database locations, and access methodologies.
Data Modelling: Create, develop, and manage sophisticated logical and physical data models that align with both target IT requirements and business objectives.
Requirements Analysis: Review and analyze existing IT applications and related data to design effective target data models.
Source-to-Target Mapping: Analyze source data models to develop comprehensive data mappings, ensuring seamless integration between legacy and target systems.
Validation & Analysis: Utilize expert RDBMS knowledge and advanced SQL skills to carry out deep data analysis and validate data integrity.
Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively engage with Business Analysts, SMEs, Developers, and Solution Architects to ensure all data deliverables are of high quality and meet corporate standards.
Research & Innovation: Conduct research from a variety of sources to ensure alignment with current IT trends, such as Data Lakehouses and modern data formats.
Policy Integration: Ensure all designs incorporate industry best practices and comply with corporate and client cluster policies.
Qualifications
Core Experience: 8+ years of experience in data architecture and modelling within large-scale IT environments.
Modelling Expertise: Proven mastery of logical and physical data modelling tools and CASE (Computer Aided Software Engineering) tools.
Technical Skills: Expert RDBMS knowledge and advanced SQL for deep data analysis.
Modern Data Knowledge: Familiarity with Parquet, Delta-Lake, Snowflake, and Azure Data Lakehouses.
Analytical Prowess: Ability to understand complex problem domains and communicate data modelling outputs effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Development Skills: Knowledge of Python to aid in data processing activities is a strong asset.
Frameworks: Solid understanding of Information Management principles, policies, and practices.
