Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and document integration packages using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and SSIS to consolidate data from multiple complex systems.
- Develop and maintain Databricks notebooks and jobs using Python (PySpark) and SQL for both batch and streaming workloads.
- Design and implement complex T-SQL, stored procedures, views, triggers, and indexes to optimize data flow and storage.
- Build curated datasets following layered patterns (Bronze/Silver/Gold) and implement Delta Lake best practices.
- Assist in the data modeling of warehouse and data lake solutions while performing advanced data analysis to provide meaningful, data-driven insights.
- Design and implement rigorous data quality, cleansing, and stewardship processes.
- Convert business requirements into technical specifications and work closely with Business Analysts and project teams to ensure alignment.
- Research and propose technical solutions, perform knowledge transfer sessions, and recommend improvements for automation and workflow efficiency.
- Provide accurate time estimates for technical tasks and ensure all developments meet enterprise documentation standards.
Qualifications
- University degree in Computer Science or a related business/computer discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of proven experience in database development or data engineering for enterprise-level solutions.
- Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure Synapse, SQL Data Warehouse, and Azure Data Factory.
- Advanced experience with Azure Databricks and SQL Server (2016 or later).
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps.
- Skilled in developing Microsoft Power BI reports or similar data visualization tools.
- Expert understanding of Data Warehouse (DW), Business Intelligence (BI) implementations, and Data Lake design.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to explain complex data solutions to the team.
