As a principal data engineer, you will bridge the gap between complex business requirements and modern cloud data architectures. Operating within a hybrid work model, you will lead the end-to-end development of data integration packages, build robust Azure Data Factory and SSIS pipelines, optimize Azure Synapse data warehouses, and enforce strict data quality, cleansing, and governance processes. Responsibilities
Support, design, develop, and maintain enterprise data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts for business intelligence and analytics solutions.
Design, build, support, and document complex data integration packages using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
Write, optimize, and document complex T-SQL code, stored procedures, views, triggers, and performance indexes to support high-volume data flows.
Implement robust data quality, data cleansing, and data stewardship mechanisms across enterprise ingestion pipelines.
Collaborate with project teams and business analysts to translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications and data architectures.
Participate in dimensional data modeling, data warehouse design, and schema optimizations for cloud and on-premises storage solutions.
Conduct advanced data analysis to extract meaningful, data-driven insights and recommend process automation enhancements.
Engineer CI/CD build and deployment pipelines within Azure DevOps to streamline code promotion across environments.
Support various testing phases (Systems Integration Testing, QA, UAT) by resolving technical defects and performing unit testing.
Create detailed technical design specifications, system documentation, status reports, and conduct knowledge transfer sessions for operational teams.
Qualifications
Core Requirements & Mandatory Criteria
Education: University degree in Computer Science, or equivalent, combined with directly related professional experience in a technical discipline.
Database & Data Engineering Experience: 5+ years of progressive hands-on experience in database development or data engineering for enterprise-level solutions.
Integration Tooling Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on experience building ETL/ELT pipelines with SSIS, Microsoft Azure Data Factory (ADF), and related Azure cloud services.
Data Warehousing & Database Depth: 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, and Microsoft SQL Server (2016 or later).
DevOps & CI/CD Pipelines: 5+ years of experience constructing and supporting automated deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps.
Data Modeling & Architecture: Expert understanding and enterprise-scale experience working with Data Warehouse (DW), Data Lake design, and Business Intelligence (BI) implementations.
Data Quality & Cleansing: Proven experience designing and implementing data quality rules, cleansing protocols, and stewardship workflows.
Preferred Assets
