Responsibilities
-Full-Cycle Estimating: Lead the development of conceptual and detailed estimates for major industrial projects, focusing on mechanical and electrical disciplines.
-Strategic Analysis: Review project specifications and contract documents to develop innovative construction methodologies that inform competitive bidding.
-Leadership & Mentorship: Oversee quality control for the estimating team, delegating tasks and providing direct mentorship to junior and intermediate estimators.
-Stakeholder Engagement: Present estimates to senior executives and external clients, leading negotiations and fostering long-term professional relationships.
-Process Improvement: Champion the use of in-house software and Bluebeam to refine historical cost databases and departmental best practices.
Qualifications
-Experience: 10–15+ years of estimating experience within heavy industrial sectors (Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Power, or Data Centres)
-Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent industry experience).
-Technical Expertise: Strong background in self-performing work, specifically in process piping and mechanical equipment installation.
-Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD; experience with advanced industrial estimating software is a plus.
-Leadership: Proven track record of managing direct reports or leading the estimating function for large-scale (Multi-Million/Billion dollar) projects.
