On behalf of our client, a leading global insurance provider, we are seeking a meticulous and highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join their Accounts Receivable (AR) Finance Operations team. This is a high-impact, 12-month contract designed for a designated accounting professional who thrives in complex financial environments.
...
In this role, you will act as a key pillar in the AR lifecycle, moving beyond basic collections to manage the sophisticated financial reporting, reconciliations, and process optimizations required for large-scale corporate insurance operations. You will bridge the gap between billing operations and general ledger accuracy, ensuring that the financial health of the AR subledger is maintained to the highest standards.
Advantages
Long-Term Stability: Secure a 1-year mandate with one of Canada’s most recognized insurance brands.
Hybrid Work Model: Benefit from a flexible schedule with only two mandatory days in the Markham office (Wednesday is the anchor day, with a second day of your choice).
Modern Tech Stack: Gain deep, hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion and advanced AR subledger systems.
Process Ownership: Have a seat at the table to suggest and implement process improvements and documentation standards rather than just following existing scripts.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will manage the full-cycle AR finance operations with a focus on accuracy and investigative analysis. Your core duties will include:
Month-End Execution: Perform daily tracking of AR activities and execute essential General Ledger (GL) bookings during the month-end close.
Complex Reconciliations: Reconcile monthly AR transactions and ensure all AR positions are balanced at each period end.
Financial Investigation: Partner with Billing Operations teams to conduct variance analysis and deep-dive investigations into discrepancies.
Accounting Integrity: Assess the appropriateness of accounting operations for receivables and prepare necessary journal entries.
Operational Excellence: Lead the initiative to improve internal documentation and implement process improvements to streamline AR finance workflows.
Qualifications
Designation: An active Accounting Designation is required (CPA, CGA, or CMA).
Technical Expertise: Proven experience working within Oracle Fusion and complex AR subledger systems.
Data Proficiency: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manipulate and interpret large, high-volume datasets.
Problem Solving: Advanced investigative skills with a track record of resolving complex reconciliation variances.
Compliance: Must be able to pass a standard Credit Check as part of the onboarding process.
Summary
This is a premier opportunity for a designated Senior Financial Analyst to take ownership of a critical finance function within a top-tier organization. If you are a problem-solver who enjoys the "detective work" of accounting and wants to contribute to a collaborative, hybrid team in Markham, we encourage you to apply today.
Would you like me to prepare a comparison of the typical day-to-day workflow between this AR Finance role and the AML Surveillance role you were previously looking at?
