This role offers a unique opportunity to lead strategic HR initiatives in a dynamic, unionized manufacturing environment while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for labor relations, partnering with union leadership on grievances, investigations, discipline, and arbitration
- Drive positive employee relations through coaching, conflict resolution, and inclusive culture initiatives
- Lead end‑to‑end talent management for hourly and salaried employees, supporting a 24/7 manufacturing operation
- Manage and develop an HR team of three while delivering key HR programs and retention strategies
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and oversee HR policies, records, safety, and wellness programs
- Analyze HR metrics and lead continuous improvement and change initiatives through clear communication
- Represent Cascades Tissue Group at corporate and community events, with occasional travel to Canada

- 5+ years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, ideally in an HR Generalist, HRBP, or HR Manager role
- Strong union labor relations expertise, including contract interpretation, grievance management, and employee relations in a unionized setting
- Proven experience supporting heavy manufacturing operations (paper, pulp, or similar industries strongly preferred)
- Broad knowledge of core HR disciplines, including compensation, benefits, health management, and talent development
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to navigate conflict and build consensus
- Trusted, credible partner who builds strong relationships with both hourly and salaried employees
- Hands‑on, approachable leader with a strong sense of urgency, high accountability, and a bias for action
