Responsibilities
Architectural Assessment & Planning
- Undertake comprehensive information architecture needs assessments for complex infrastructure and system projects.
- Define and describe architectural requirements with clients and obtain management approval.
- Develop detailed project plans and resource estimates for large-scale information architecture components.
- Research, develop, and maintain information architectural policies and standards to align with industry best practices.
Data Modeling & Standards
- Develop and review conceptual, logical, and physical data models to ensure high quality and strict adherence to standards.
- Create and maintain essential information architecture artifacts, including data flow diagrams and metadata repositories.
- Ensure all designs integrate seamlessly with corporate and cluster-specific policies.
Governance & Project Support
- Lead the creation of checkpoint deliverables and necessary artifacts for enterprise governance requirements.
- Provide situation-specific interpretation advice to project teams, client management, and external vendors.
- Develop information architecture specifications for RFPs and participate in bid assessments and contract negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and related regulatory standards.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Participate in enterprise-wide and cross-jurisdictional architecture projects.
- Act as a central point of coordination between I&IT clusters, business clients, and technical staff.
- Lead highly sensitive information architecture investigations when required.
Qualifications
Experience & Mandatory Requirements
- 3+ years of Public Sector (OPS) experience is mandatory.
- Must Have: 3+ years experience developing and reviewing conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Must Have: 3+ years experience providing information architecture expertise to enterprise-level I&IT project teams.
- Must Have: 3+ years experience with GO-ITS 200PRS EA Governance Requirements and Standard Enterprise Architecture artifacts.
- Must Have: 3+ years experience with CASE tools (e.g., PowerDesigner, ERwin, MySQL Workbench, MagicDraw, Visio, or Jira).
Technical & Specialized Skills
- Deep knowledge of Information Management principles, concepts, and policies.
- Proven ability to develop checkpoint deliverables and navigate complex governance frameworks.
- Strong understanding of AODA regulations and their application within information architecture.
- Demonstrated experience in RFP specification development and vendor contract assessment.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication skills for translating complex architecture into business-friendly guidance.
- Strong analytical skills for performing sensitive investigations and reviews.
- Ability to manage resource estimates and timelines for large-scale projects.
