As a principal information architect, you will bridge the gap between strategic business goals, complex data governance baselines, and cloud-native technical architectures. Operating fully onsite in Toronto, you will provide expert guidance across information and business architecture domains, evaluate data modeling standards, design modular data mesh environments, and leverage AI capabilities to enhance analytics workflows. This position demands a seasoned architecture authority who can author enterprise architectural artifacts, lead complex system assessments, and guide projects through formal architecture governance reviews.

Integrate AI-driven analytics techniques, utilizing prompt engineering, machine learning literacy, generative AI summarization, and automated ETL data processing.
Design modular, composable application architectures and cloud-native solutions incorporating microservices, RESTful APIs, API management, and Azure App Services.
Implement data mesh patterns for distributed storage and design data ingestion strategies informed directly by downstream business consumption needs.
Utilize Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE) and architectural modeling tools such as PowerDesigner, Visio, and DevOps platforms to produce standard enterprise artifacts.
Author, review, and maintain formal architectural artifacts required to successfully navigate enterprise architecture governance review checkpoints.
Conduct in-depth application and information architecture reviews, gap analyses, and assessments for large-scale, integrated systems environments.
Facilitate interactive workshops with multi-disciplinary stakeholders to address technical architecture, security, privacy, and accessibility considerations.
Deliver technical documentation, process maps, target-state blueprints, and structured knowledge transfer to project teams and technical staff.
Qualifications
Core Technical & Information Architecture Requirements
Information & Business Architecture Experience: 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in application/database development and providing expert information and business architecture advice across enterprise initiatives.
AI-Driven Data Analytics: Demonstrated experience incorporating AI tools into data analysis workflows, including prompt engineering, machine learning literacy, generative AI data exploration, and automated ETL pipeline generation.
Enterprise Architecture Governance: Practical experience navigating public sector enterprise architecture governance committees, Target State Architecture (TSA) frameworks, and formal architectural review checkpoints.
Modeling & CASE Tools: Hands-on experience using CASE and diagramming tools (e.g., PowerDesigner, Visio) to build conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
Cloud & Data Mesh Architecture: Proven experience with cloud-native architectures, RESTful API management, microservice design, Azure App Services, and data mesh implementation practices.
Data Standards Expertise: Familiarity with enterprise information modeling standards, common data element models (Party LDM, Address LDM), and common data usage patterns.
