Build, assemble, and commission new injection molds to design specifications.

Rework and modify molds (EDM, CNC operations, bench work, fitting, polishing) to improve part quality and cycle time.
Set up and validate mold trials on presses; collaborate with machine operators to optimize process parameters.
Maintain accurate tooling documentation, including mold history, maintenance logs, repair records, and spare-parts lists.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce changeover time, minimize scrap, and enhance tooling reliability.
Mentor and train junior mold makers and apprentices while promoting a strong culture of safety.
Manage tooling and spare-parts inventory; recommend upgrades or capital replacements when needed.
Coordinate with external tool vendors and machine shops for complex repairs or new build projects.
Support Engineering and Purchasing during design reviews to ensure manufacturability and moldability.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality procedures (ISO/TS or equivalent).
Serve as the primary point of contact for mold-related production issues during assigned shifts.
Provide regular updates to the Tooling Manager on mold health, repair status, and planned maintenance.
Lead at least one tooling-reliability or process-improvement initiative per quarter and present outcomes at monthly production reviews.
Qualifications
Minimum 8–10 years of hands-on experience in injection mold making, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Proven experience working with both steel and aluminum molds, including fitting, assembly, and fine machining.
Strong bench skills: milling, drilling, tapping, reaming, fitting, polishing, and precision measurement.
Proficient in CNC machining and EDM operations (programming and operation).
Familiarity with mold components such as hot runners, cold runners, lifters, ejector systems, and cooling circuits.
Solid understanding of injection-molding processes, press setup, and part troubleshooting.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and machining blueprints.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with a focus on mentorship and teamwork.
Physical and Working Conditions
Shop-floor environment with exposure to machinery, lubricants, and moderate noise levels.
Regular standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, and performing precision hand and bench work.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required, including safety footwear, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
Standard shift schedule, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime or emergency call-ins during production breakdowns.
