Responsibilities
•Tax Compliance & Reporting: Direct daily corporate tax compliance, reporting, remittance, and recovery operations to ensure full adherence to tax regulations.

•Audit Management: Manage external government audits, coordinate documentation and analysis, and handle inquiries from tax authorities.
•Tax Research & Advisory: Conduct research on current and proposed tax legislation, evaluate business impacts, and present clear findings to executive management.
•Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with business units on new initiatives to ensure tax implications are identified, documented, and reported accurately.
•Governance & Documentation: Maintain complete procedural documentation across all tax processes and propose system/policy enhancements to increase departmental efficiency.
Qualifications
•Minimum Requirements:
oEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
oExperience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar tax management role, including direct experience leading and developing a team.
oSystems Experience: Proficient with SAP and tax engines such as Vertex (or equivalent).
oTechnical Knowledge: Strong understanding of provincial sales taxes (PST/RST/HST) supported by practical tax research experience.
oLegislative Analysis: Proven track record of accurately reading, interpreting, and applying complex tax legislation.
•Nice to Have:
oDesignation: CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation.
oIndustry: Prior experience within the Retail sector.
