Responsibilities
•Administer, configure, and maintain the Microsoft Exchange Server environment (on-premises, Exchange Online, or hybrid deployments).
•Manage mailbox provisioning, permissions, and distribution groups for all NRC users.
•Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to Exchange services, mail flow, and connectivity.
•Plan, design, and implement Exchange upgrades, patches, and migrations, ensuring minimal disruption to users.
•Ensure compliance with organizational policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements for email and messaging systems.
•Manage and maintain Exchange databases, backups, and disaster recovery plans.
•Collaborate with security teams to implement anti-spam, anti-malware, and email encryption solutions.
•Provide tier 2/3 support and resolve complex email-related issues escalated from the IT Service Desk.
•Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of Exchange infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.
•Work closely with network, infrastructure, and application teams to integrate Exchange with other systems and services (e.g., Active Directory, SharePoint, Teams).
•Participate in capacity planning and forecasting for Exchange resources based on usage trends and growth projections.
•Stay current with Microsoft Exchange product updates, industry trends, and best practices to recommend improvements.
•Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members and other IT staff.
Qualifications
•Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft Exchange Server environments.
•Experience managing hybrid Exchange environments integrating on-premises Exchange and Exchange Online (Office 365).
•Proven expertise in Exchange migration projects, upgrades, and performance tuning.
•Solid understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, SMTP, and networking concepts related to Exchange.
•Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and administration.
•Familiarity with email security protocols and technologies (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, TLS).
•Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions for Exchange.
•Experience with Mac and Linux systems is considered an asset.
Certifications (preferred but not mandatory):
•Microsoft Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate
•Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
Key Competencies:
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
•Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
