Our client, is seeking a high-performing, hands-on Senior Network Engineer to join their global network engineering group as part of an enterprise-wide digital transformation.
...
In this strategic hybrid role, you will bridge traditional on-premises enterprise networking with modern cloud infrastructure. Acting as a technical engineering lead, you will play a central role in a multi-year Data Center Exodus / Azure Migration, optimize global SD-WAN deployments, and build Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) automation pipelines. Working alongside the Global Network Architect and cross-functional technology squads, you will design, secure, and support resilient network solutions spanning cloud transit hubs, Cisco ACI data center fabrics, and high-volume manufacturing environments.
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days per week on-site at the corporate facility / 2 days remote)
Advantages
High-Impact Cloud Transformation: Take direct engineering ownership of moving legacy data center workloads into Microsoft Azure while modernizing global plant and corporate connectivity.
Full-Time Enterprise Stability: Secure a permanent, full-time engineering position within a thriving global enterprise undergoing massive digital modernization.
Modern IaC & SRE Sandbox: Drive automation adoption using Terraform, Ansible, and Python to introduce Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices to global network operations.
Relocation Support Included: Full relocation assistance available for qualified candidates moving within Canada.
Responsibilities
Data Center to Cloud Migration: Serve as the hands-on technical lead for transitioning legacy infrastructure to Microsoft Azure; design and manage transit routing, ExpressRoute connections, and cloud firewall policy changes.
Complex Infrastructure & SD-WAN Management: Maintain, optimize, and expand Cisco SD-WAN, Cisco ACI data center fabric, enterprise routing/switching (BGP, OSPF), and campus/plant wireless networks.
Tier-3 Engineering Escalation: Act as the senior technical escalation lead for complex, multi-domain network incidents crossing cloud, physical, and security boundaries that managed service provider (MSP) partners cannot resolve.
Network Automation & SRE Practices: Leverage Terraform and Ansible to automate network provisioning workflows, streamline routine change windows, and enhance network observability.
Vendor & MSP Oversight: Author detailed technical engineering work packages for third-party MSPs, overseeing operational execution and hypercare support.
Security & SASE Alignment: Partner with global security teams to co-design and enforce firewall policies, zero-trust frameworks, and secure edge access solutions (Zscaler).
Qualifications
Azure Cloud Network Depth: Proven experience designing, deploying, and securing enterprise cloud networks in Microsoft Azure (VNet architecture, Azure Firewalls, ExpressRoute, and transit routing).
Enterprise Cisco Architecture: Advanced hands-on expertise with Cisco SD-WAN, Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure), enterprise routing/switching (BGP, OSPF), and enterprise wireless systems.
Hybrid Connectivity Mastery: Demonstrated track record seamlessly bridging physical manufacturing/on-premises environments with public cloud platforms.
Analytical & Ownership Mindset: Self-driven problem solver with a "roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude and strong cross-functional communication skills.
Preferred Assets & Nice-to-Haves
Practical network automation experience using Terraform, Ansible, or Python.
Familiarity with Zscaler, SASE/SSE architectures, and next-generation firewalls.
Experience operating within Agile/Jira sprint workflows with an emphasis on capacity management and SRE principles.
Summary
