Responsibilities
-Serve as second-in-command on site, acting GM when GM is off site. Providing strong leadership and direction across departments.
-Work closely with the General Manager to execute the site operational strategy, business plans, and production targets.
-Ensure integration and alignment across mining, milling, maintenance, technical services, HSE, and support functions.
-Champion a proactive safety culture and uphold the highest environmental and regulatory standards.
-Oversee day-to-day operations and serve as acting GM in the General Manager’s absence.
-Drive performance management processes to ensure key KPIs (safety, production, cost, compliance) are achieved or exceeded.
-Foster a high-performance culture based on accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.
-Identify operational risks and lead cross-functional efforts to mitigate them.
-Develop future leaders by mentoring superintendents, managers, and high-potential team members.
-Collaborate with corporate functions to ensure alignment with company-wide initiatives, policies, and reporting standards.
Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering or related field is a benefit.
-Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in mining operations, including 5+ years in a senior operational leadership role.
-Start up experience is an asset.
