As a Senior Privacy Consultant, you will serve as the primary executive lead and subject matter authority on privacy-by-design principles, regulatory compliance, and risk management. Responsibilities

Review, author, and approve major privacy deliverables, including Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), privacy governance frameworks, audit reports, and executive briefing notes.
Champion privacy-by-design principles across all stages of project lifecycles, ensuring alignment with applicable privacy legislation and statutory requirements.
Provide strategic advice to executive leadership and senior management regarding emerging privacy risks, compliance obligations, and risk acceptance frameworks.
Support regulatory engagement activities, including liaison and matter resolution with information and privacy commissioners.
Collaborate closely with legal counsel, cybersecurity leads, information management, AI governance teams, and business units to establish risk mitigation strategies.
Oversee quality assurance for privacy deliverables to ensure strict adherence to regulatory, contractual, and industry compliance standards.
Author technical and functional privacy specifications, operational runbooks, and privacy policy guidelines.
Qualifications
Core Requirements & Mandatory Criteria
Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution in Law, Public Policy, Information Management, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Business Administration, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Mandatory Certification: Active Certified Information Privacy Professional/Canada (CIPP/C) designation is required.
Overall Privacy Experience: Minimum 10+ years of overall experience providing privacy consulting, privacy compliance, information governance, or privacy risk management services.
Public Sector Leadership: Minimum 5+ years of experience in a leadership capacity on privacy-related engagements for Ontario public-sector organizations.
PIA Leadership: Proven track record having led or overseen at least one (1) comprehensive Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) within the last seven (7) years.
Preferred Assets & Specialized Knowledge
Additional Designations: Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), CIPP/E, or Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP) certifications are considered strong assets.
Emerging Technology Scope: Experience supporting privacy evaluations for Artificial Intelligence (AI), automated decision-making systems, cloud platforms, surveillance, or biometric applications.
Soft Skills & Delivery Attributes
Executive Communication: Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills to articulate complex legislative risks to executive stakeholders.
