Responsibilities
Design System Development & Maintenance: Develop and expand the design system with a focus on accessibility, creating and maintaining Figma components that adhere to WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
Accessibility Review & Recommendations: Conduct detailed reviews of digital platforms to identify and address accessibility issues, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
Documentation & Collaboration: Create comprehensive documentation on accessibility best practices and component usage. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and product owners, to ensure alignment on accessibility goals.
Quality Assurance: Perform design QA to validate that implemented designs align with the design system and accessibility requirements.
Stakeholder Education: Act as an advocate for accessibility-first design principles, educating internal stakeholders on its importance.
Continuous Learning: Stay current with the latest accessibility regulations, trends, and tools to continually enhance digital properties.
Qualifications
A minimum of 5+ years of experience (8+ years ideal) as a digital product designer with a proven track record in building and maintaining design systems.
Expert knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA standards and a strong understanding of how accessibility applies to corporate communications.
Exceptional skills in Figma are essential.
Experience in a large, enterprise-level organization within the design industry.
A systematic and proactive problem-solver who can identify issues and provide practical, scalable solutions.
A portfolio demonstrating experience with Figma design components and modules is required.
