Responsibilities
Backlog Ownership & Prioritization
- Define and prioritize the product backlog based on business value, technical feasibility, and compliance.
- Draft clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria for engineering teams.
- Strategically balance short-term delivery requirements with long-term platform evolution.
Delivery & Execution
- Partner with engineering leads to facilitate smooth sprint planning, delivery, and release management.
- Make rapid, informed decisions regarding technical trade-offs and constraints.
- Monitor platform KPIs, focusing on performance, reliability, cost efficiency, and user adoption.
Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration
- Engage with internal stakeholders to translate data needs into technical requirements.
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure alignment with project objectives and quality standards.
- Prepare materials for and participate in steering committees to ensure organizational alignment.
Risk Management & Governance
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks to avoid delivery delays.
- Implement best practices to minimize operational risks and enhance portfolio success.
- Maintain a governance-first approach to all data initiatives within the portfolio.
Qualifications
Experience & Expertise
- 10+ years of professional experience in product management or technical leadership.
- Proven track record of managing Data or Cloud Infrastructure platforms (Azure preferred).
- Strong experience in Agile methodologies, specifically sprint planning and release management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage vendor resources and large-scale stakeholder groups.
Technical Knowledge
- Familiarity with the Data ecosystem: Databricks, Data Warehousing, ETL, and Data Pipelines.
- Understanding of Data Analytics and Visualization tools.
- Ability to translate complex technical constraints into business-friendly strategy.
Competencies
